I have a new literary agent (Jim McCarthy!) and I'm so damn happy about it. BUT. As I announced my news, I was reminded how we so often share the victories without showing what it took to get there. In publishing, authors internalize shame about rejection, as if it's our fault that tastes are so subjective, or that the industry is so screwed up.
So I wanted to share the WHOLE process, warts and all.
